Supporting Rural Transformation

Every dollar given to BLI is a dollar invested in the future of rural Uganda. We welcome donations to our general operating fund, which funds everything from our Caretaker training program to our community tree-planting events. You can also choose a specific program or campaign to donate to––enabling you to put your funds into the program that speaks most to you. As BLI builds toward sustainability in local markets, we thank you for your continued support.

Special Giving Opportunity: Caretaker Scholarships

One of BLI's most popular giving programs, the Caretaker Scholarship Fund ensures that any trainee qualified and interested in attending BLI can do so, regardless of financial means. While all trainees contribute a small portion of their overall tuition fee––which can be done through work study programming on campus––those contributions make up only a small portion of what is needed for the Caretaker program. We therefore created a Scholarship Fund, through which donors can sponsor a trainee.

A Caretaker Sponsorship covers a trainee's full tuition at BLI for one year. It creates a one-to-one relationship between the donor and Caretaker and offers a unique opportunity for the student to directly communicate with the donor on a quarterly basis. The cost is $2,500 for one year of residency at BLI.
